Why is my Samsung dishwasher not draining?

Don't keep running the dishwasher -- pull the toe kick and check for water under the unit. The cause is upstream: a complete drain blockage (filter, hose, pump). 4C or 4E -- water supply error
If you see 4C with no drain symptoms, that's a fill problem, not a drain problem. But sometimes 4C appears alongside 5C when the wash cycle detected both too little fill and bad drain -- Samsung's sensors flag both. - Verify the disposal knockout plug. If a recent install, confirm the plug inside the disposal inlet was removed.
- Check the drain pump impeller. With the filter out, shine a flashlight into the pump cavity. Remove any visible debris with needle-nose pliers.
- Force a drain cycle. On most Samsung dishwashers, press and hold the Start/Reset button for 3 seconds, or select the Drain Only cycle if available. Pump runs for 90 seconds.
- Cycle the power. If error codes persist after fixing the obvious issues, unplug the dishwasher (or trip the breaker) for 5 minutes. This sometimes clears latched error states on Samsung control boards after Tampa storm-season power events.
