Why is my LG refrigerator not cooling?
LG refrigerators have one famous cooling failure pattern that dwarfs all others: linear compressor failure. If your LG French door or InstaView from 2014-2017 stopped cooling, it's almost certainly the compressor — and on many of these units the sealed system is still under extended factory parts coverage, which is worth checking against your serial number before you pay anyone. When an LG stops cooling, the cause is typically:

Linear compressor failure: the famous LG issue
LG used linear compressors in French door, InstaView, and Door-in-Door models from 2014-2017 (some later). The compressor stops generating enough pressure to cool refrigerant even though the motor keeps running. You hear the compressor humming, the meter spins, but interior temp climbs. Sound pattern: continuous hum or repeating click-pause-click. LG extended the sealed system warranty to 10 years on most models built after 2014.
