Appliance repair in Tampa Bay, all of it on one page

Perfect Appliance Repair Tampa is a local Tampa company, owner-operated, licensed, insured and EPA-certified — and Tampa Bay appliance repair is what we do all day, kitchen appliances and laundry alike. The technician who repairs refrigerators is the same one who fixes your dryer, so the truck that handles a Whirlpool washing machine in Zephyrhills handles a Sub-Zero column in Hyde Park, and one visit can cover two machines on a single diagnostic. The failures repeat, whatever the badge: heating elements, drain pumps, control boards, door seals — parts, not mysteries.

Below: what we repair in every home appliance family, the commercial refrigeration side, the brands we service, and the actual streets and ZIP codes we drive every week across the greater Tampa Bay area. If you would rather diagnose the issue yourself first, our troubleshooting guides are written from real service calls — and our recent repairs page shows the work, photographed.

RESIDENTIAL APPLIANCE REPAIR

Every major appliance: refrigerator, washer, dryer, dishwasher, oven & stove

Seven repair families, one truck, one diagnostic. Pick the type of appliance that is giving you trouble and you get the honest version — what usually fails, what it costs to ignore, and where to read more. Each family has its own full page, and our appliance repair technicians handle all of them on the same visit.

Bright open Tampa Bay kitchen with an island and built-in appliances — the kind of kitchen we work in every day

Refrigerator & freezer

Not cooling · ice maker · leaks · built-ins

The call that cannot wait, and the one we schedule first. A cold freezer with a warm fresh-food side is airflow or defrost, not the compressor everyone fears; dirty condenser coils are the failure we find most often when a good refrigerator slowly gives up, and worn door seals let Florida humidity undo the rest. We handle everything from the garage freezer to Sub-Zero and premium built-ins, with dedicated pages for not cooling, ice makers, freezers, LG compressors and same-day emergencies.

Washer

Will not drain · will not spin · leaking · error codes

A washing machine that stops mid-cycle usually fails on a cheap part: a drain pump jammed by a coin, a faulty lid switch, a worn belt, a door gasket that no longer seals. Tampa's hard water speeds all of it up — scale builds on pump impellers and inlet-valve screens faster than the manufacturer planned for. Front-load, top-load, stacked pairs and all-in-one units; we carry pumps, switches and gaskets for Whirlpool, LG, Samsung, GE and Maytag on the truck.

Washer repair in Tampa Bay →

Dryer

No heat · takes two cycles · loud thump · burning smell

Gas and electric dryers fail differently: electric loses a heating element or a thermal fuse, gas loses an igniter — all same-visit repairs. But a fuse that blew once will blow again if nobody looks at the vent, so a vent inspection rides along with every dryer call we run. A load that takes two cycles is almost never the machine alone — it is the machine telling you the airflow is gone. The loud thump is usually a worn drum roller or belt, and the burning smell is the reason not to put that call off.

Dryer repair in Tampa Bay →

Dishwasher

Not draining · not cleaning · leaking · error codes

Water at the bottom is nearly always a clogged filter, a clogged drain hose or a food-jammed pump — cheap to fix and easy to misdiagnose as a dead motor. Cloudy glasses and a top rack that stays dirty are scale narrowing the spray-arm holes: hard water again. A leaking dishwasher earns a same-day look before it earns a floor repair. Bosch, Miele, KitchenAid and every Whirlpool-family badge.

Dishwasher repair in Tampa Bay →

Range, oven, stove & cooktop

Will not heat · burner will not light · uneven baking

Gas and electric, slide-in and wall oven, radiant and induction cooktops. Stove repair is mostly igniters, spark modules, bake elements, thermostat issues and control boards — parts, not mysteries. Uneven baking is usually a failed convection fan or a drifted sensor, not "an old oven." And on the professional ranges in Wolf, Viking and Thermador kitchens, repair nearly always beats replacing a built-in that the cabinetry was cut around.

Oven, range and cooktop repair →

Microwave

No heat · sparking · door latch · over-the-range

We repair over-the-range and built-in microwaves — door switches, magnetrons, control boards — because replacing one means matching a cabinet cutout and a ventilation path that were sized when the kitchen was built. A countertop unit is the one appliance we will usually tell you not to pay to fix: the visit costs more than the machine is worth, and we would rather say that on the phone than at your kitchen counter.

Microwave repair in Tampa Bay →

Wine coolers & ice makers

Warm zone · slush cubes · under-counter units

Tampa Bay keeps a lot of wine at temperature, and both machines fail quietly. Dual-zone wine coolers drift one zone at a time; under-counter beverage centers choke on airflow inside tight cabinetry; ice makers freeze their own fill tubes solid and hand you slush. Most of these units are integrated, which makes repair the cheap option. See wine cooler repair and ice maker repair.

FOR BUSINESSES

Commercial refrigeration and restaurant equipment

Cafés, restaurants, bars, convenience stores and offices across Tampa Bay run on cold storage, and when it warms up the product pays first. The commercial visit is $129, applied to the repair, with the same no-fix-no-pay promise as the residential side. Service and repair for businesses comes with the documentation an insurance claim or a landlord asks for: written findings, itemized estimates, photos on the invoice.

Walk-ins, glass-door merchandisers, prep tables, under-counter refrigeration, bar equipment and ice machines — start at the commercial refrigeration hub.

TAMPA RESTAURANT KITCHEN

A reach-in on a working line does not get to take a day off. Commercial calls are scheduled around your prep hours whenever the day allows, and the truck carries gaskets, thermostats and controls for the common platforms.

BRANDS WE REPAIR

Major brands, premium and everyday

We are an independent local company, not a factory service center — we say that plainly, because it is why one visit can cover a Whirlpool washer and a Sub-Zero column. Every brand below links to its own page with the failure patterns we actually see in Tampa Bay kitchens.

Logos of appliance brands we repair: LG, Samsung, Sub-Zero, Whirlpool and KitchenAid
Logos of appliance brands we repair: GE, Electrolux, Maytag, Bosch and GE Monogram

Premium & built-in

Sealed-system work done by EPA-certified technicians, cabinetry-integrated units, OEM parts — and a 12-month parts and labor warranty on premium built-in refrigeration: Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking, Thermador, GE Monogram, Miele and Bertazzoni.

Everyday workhorses

The brands in most Tampa Bay homes, repaired with common parts stocked on the truck — and a 90-day labor warranty on every standard repair.

The full list, including the badges that hide other manufacturers underneath, is on the brands we repair page.

How an appliance repair service call goes

1

Call, text or book online. You reach the person who does the work, and a clear description of the appliance issue often gets the diagnosis started over the phone.

2

A two-hour arrival window, a text when we are 15 minutes out, and a truck stocked with the common parts for the major brands.

3

The $69 diagnostic — $129 for commercial equipment — with a written estimate before anything is opened, and the fee applied in full to the repair you approve.

4

The repair, verified: temperatures, cycles and airflow checked before we leave, the warranty in writing, and 30 days of free text support after.

HONEST PRICING

What appliance repair costs in Tampa — and the warranty behind it

$69
DIAGNOSTIC
APPLIED TO REPAIR

Every repair is quoted after the diagnostic — never before, and never by the hour. $69 for a residential appliance, $129 for commercial equipment, either one applied in full to the repair you approve. Parts are always listed separately from labor — no all-in mystery numbers, no shop fees, no fuel surcharges, and the same fair pricing on every street we serve. If the unit cannot reasonably be repaired, you pay nothing at all. Details on our pricing page.

THE WARRANTY, EXACTLY

90 days on labor for a standard repair — the great majority of what we do. 12 months on parts and labor for premium built-in refrigeration: Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking, Thermador, GE Monogram, Miele and Bertazzoni. The full terms live on the warranty page, in writing.

DISCOUNTS

Age 65 or older? 10% off your repair. Three or more kids at home? Same — 10% off. You always take the discount that is greatest for you.

THE QUESTION EVERYONE ASKS

Repair or replace? The honest arithmetic

The rule of thumb the industry uses is the 50% rule: if the repair costs more than half of a comparable new unit and the appliance is past half its expected life, replacement usually wins. It is a decent starting point and a terrible law. A ten-year-old washing machine with a worn drain pump is worth fixing. A builder-grade refrigerator with a failed sealed system usually is not. A premium built-in flips the math entirely, because replacing it means opening cabinetry that was cut around it — which is why a repair on a Sub-Zero that would total a Frigidaire is still the right call.

What you get from us is the real version of that arithmetic, on site, in writing: what failed, what the repair costs with parts and labor itemized, what a comparable new unit runs, and which way we would go if it were our kitchen. Decline the repair and you pay only the diagnostic. If the unit cannot reasonably be repaired at all, you pay nothing — and you still leave knowing what to buy, because we see which brands come back on the truck and which do not.

What Tampa Bay homeowners and business owners say about our work is on our Google Business Profile and our BBB profile — real names, real neighborhoods, responses from the owner. Our own reviews page links straight to the sources, and recent repairs shows the work itself, photographed on real Tampa Bay streets. Three of those reviews, exactly as customers posted them:

Five-star Google review: tried for months to repair a GE refrigerator, the technician was on time, diagnosed the problem quickly and had the part on hand
Five-star Yelp review from Cheryl A. of Tampa: Mark returned and put in a new drain pump free of charge under warranty, running full diagnostics on the washer
Five-star Google review: Mark was a pleasure to deal with, knowledgeable and punctual, got our freezer running quickly at an affordable price, 100 percent recommend
QUICK ANSWERS

Tampa appliance repair questions, answered honestly

How much does appliance repair cost in Tampa?

The visit is $69 for a residential appliance and $129 for commercial equipment, and that amount comes off the repair when you approve it. The repair itself is quoted in writing on site, after the diagnostic, with parts listed separately from labor. Appliance repair companies that quote the average cost of appliance repair over the phone are guessing — the same symptom can be a small part or a sealed-system job, and nobody knows which until the machine is open.

Do appliance repair technicians charge per hour?

Many do; we do not. You get one written number for the whole job — parts and labor itemized — before the work starts. An hourly rate rewards slow work, and a flat written quote rewards doing the repair right the first time, which is the arrangement we prefer to be held to.

Is it worth getting an appliance repaired, or should I replace it?

Usually repaired — most failures are one worn part in a machine with years left in it. But not always, and we say so on site: if the arithmetic favors replacement, you pay only the diagnostic and you get told what to buy and what to avoid, because we see which brands come back on the truck.

What is the 50% rule for appliance repair?

A common rule of thumb: if a repair costs more than half the price of a comparable new unit AND the appliance is past half its expected lifespan, replacement usually wins. It is a starting point, not a law — a premium built-in fails the math in the other direction, because replacing it means cabinetry work on top of the appliance. We run this arithmetic with you on site, with the real numbers in writing.

What types of appliances do you fix?

Refrigerators and freezers, washing machines, gas and electric dryers, dishwashers, ranges, ovens, stoves and cooktops, over-the-range and built-in microwaves, wine coolers, ice makers — plus commercial refrigeration: walk-ins, glass-door merchandisers, prep tables, under-counter units and ice machines.

What brands of appliances can be repaired?

All the major brands: Whirlpool, GE, LG, Samsung, KitchenAid, Maytag, Bosch, Frigidaire, Electrolux, Amana and Kenmore on the everyday side; Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking, Thermador, Miele, Bertazzoni and Jenn-Air on the premium side. We are independent, which is exactly why one truck can see a Whirlpool washer and a Sub-Zero column in the same afternoon.

Do you offer same-day or emergency appliance repair in Tampa?

Call before 2 PM and it is same-day service in Tampa Bay for most of our coverage area, with urgent refrigeration prioritized — warm food has a clock on it. After 2 PM you get a next-day appointment plus your choice of bonus: $30 off the repair or a free refrigerator-rated surge protector installed with it.

What warranty comes with a repair?

90 days on labor for a standard repair — that covers the great majority of what we do. 12 months on parts and labor applies only to premium built-in refrigeration: Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking, Thermador, GE Monogram, Miele and Bertazzoni. Parts also carry their own manufacturer warranty on top. The exact terms are on our warranty page, in writing.

What areas do you cover in Tampa Bay?

Tampa and South Tampa, Carrollwood, Temple Terrace and New Tampa; Wesley Chapel, Lutz, Land O' Lakes, Zephyrhills and Dade City in Pasco; Brandon, Riverview and the east side of Hillsborough; and across the bay into Pinellas — Clearwater, Largo, St. Petersburg. Same price everywhere. No zone fees.

Do you work with landlords and property managers?

Yes — photo documentation on every invoice, written diagnostics, direct tenant coordination and master-account billing for portfolios. A tenant with a dead refrigerator is an emergency for three people at once; we treat it that way.

Do you repair gas appliances?

Yes — gas ranges, cooktops and gas dryers: igniters, spark modules, gas valves and safety checks. If we ever find a condition that is not safe to run, you hear it before anything else, in plain words.

Is there anything you do not repair?

Countertop microwaves, toasters and other small plug-in appliances — a service visit costs more than they are worth, and we tell you that on the phone instead of charging you to hear it in person. We also do not do HVAC or plumbing beyond the appliance connections themselves.

We're in this business to help our neighbors

That's the whole plan. A careful, correct diagnosis. A repair done right the first time. No sales pitch, no hourly meter running, and no different price because of your address — Hyde Park pays exactly what Dade City pays. Everything in writing, from the estimate to the warranty. Your appliances are in good hands.
